Parents for Free Choice in Education Explains Endorsement of Hector Castillo
Co-founder of Parents for Free Choice in Education, Israel Teitelbaum, issued the following statement:
This week's New Jersey Jewish News depicts on its cover both the Republican and Democrat gubernatorial candidates up to their necks in mud.
The facts speak for themselves. Jon Corzine literally bought his candidacy with cold cash, and had the party bosses give Acting Governor Richard Codey the boot, while Doug Forrester has enriched himself by entering into no-bid drug-insurance contracts with many New Jersey municipalities.
Never in recent memory has a gubernatorial race so vividly demonstrated how low New Jersey government has sunk. It is therefore not surprising that so many voters are confused and are seriously considering voting for neither of the above.
Fortunately, there is one candidate who truly represents the people of New Jersey. Hector Castillo, who is running as an Independent, has paid off no one, nor has he enriched himself at the expense of New Jersey taxpayers. To the contrary, he is determined to squeeze corruption out of all levels of New Jersey government and drastically cut the cost of government.
Contrary to what most politicians will tell you, a vote for Castillo in NOT a wasted vote. For if he gets far more votes in comparison to his expenditures than the leading candidates, he will be sending a powerful message to Trenton that their days are numbered.
If the voters of New Jersey turn out in droves for Castillo, he will send shock waves to Trenton and possibly set himself up for a win in 2009.
